Bagasse is a fibrous pulp that accrues during the production of sugar cane. When extracting the sugar from sugar cane, the product called “bagasse” remains as the residual material. During the production of one ton of pure cane sugar, two tons of “bagasse” accrue. This residual substance is used as a natural renewable material for the production of food service packaging. Furthermore, raw sugar can be harvested every 10 – 15 months and helps save fossil, limited resources as a raw material.
